Thabo Sefolosha, a 6-7 defensive specialist who went to the NBA Finals as the starting shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is at Verizon Center visiting with the Wizards during a WNBA game, two persons familiar with the situation told Comcast SportsNet on Wednesday.
Sefolosha lost his starting job in the postseason to Reggie Jackson as he struggled offensively.
Sefolosha isn't a scorer with a career average of 5.8 points and 44.2% shooting from the floor. He only shoots 34.8% from three.
He's only one inch shorter than Trevor Ariza, an unrestricted free agent, and could fill some of that void if Ariza walks.
Plus at $3.9 million, Sefolosha's salary last season, he'd come much cheaper to give the Wizards more salary cap flexibility.
