Wizards to close camp with open practice

The Wizards return to practice on Tuesday, the team's final formal day of training camp at George Mason University and will do so with fan support and musical accompaniment.

Scheduled for the Season Tip-Off event and open practice at the Patriot Center - all of which tips off at 6:30 p.m. - is noted D.C. sports fan and John Wall's Redskins game partner in crime, Wale.

The fan-friendly event also will feature the Wizard Girls, G-Man and the Secret Service Dunk Team, the GMU band and will feature player introductions, giveaways and special contests.

As for the actual basketball playing, not exactly sure what to expect, but last week's open practice for season ticket holders included a rather legit split-squad scrimmage with actual offensive plays and defensive effort. So, there's that.

Coming off Sunday's loss at Charlotte, highlighted by Bradley Beal's 18 points and a collective wayward shooting performance, Washington prepares for it's lone home preseason game Thursday against the New York Knicks.
