Wizards vs. Bobcats

Season series: Bobcats lead 2-0.

Last meeting: The Wizards lost 108-106 on Nov. 24 in Washington in double overtime.  It was just the second game back for Wizards PF Nene, who had a foot injury. PF Byron Mullens led the Bobcats with 27 points and PG Ramon Sessions had 21.

Previous game: The Wizards lost to the Brooklyn Nets 95-78 on Friday to fall to 19-41; The Bobcats lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-94 on Friday to fall to 13-48.

Projected starting lineups: Wizards –- PG Wall, SG Martell Webster , SF Trevor Ariza, PF Nene, C Emeka Okafor. Bobcats –- PG Kemba Walker, SG Gerald Henderson, SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, PF Mullens, C Bismack Biyombo.

Pivotal matchup: Ariza vs. Kidd-Gilchrist. The Bobcats' rookie only averages 9.2 per game, but he has been on a bit of a hot streak by shooting 8-for-11 and 8-for-13 in two of his last three games. Ariza is Washington's best one-on-one defender. 

Trending upward: Backup PG A.J. Price appears back in rhythm after being slowed by a thigh contusion. He shot 4-for-8 for 10 points and had four assists in 21 minutes in Brooklyn. ...  C Kevin Seraphin had 11 points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes.

Trending downward: In his last six quarters, Ariza is shooting 2-for-12 now that he is in the starting lineup. SG Bradley Beal has missed two games in a row (left ankle sprain). ... PF Nene hasn't had a 20-point game since Feb. 11. 

Looking ahead: Tuesday at Cleveland Cavaliers, 7; Wednesday vs. Milwaukee Bucks, 7; Friday vs. New Orleans Hornets, 7. All on CSN.
