Germany brutalized and debased host nation Brazil, in a one-sided World Cup semifinal match, where Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad fell 7-1 to the Deutsche Adler. An unprecedented result that sunk Brazil's $14 billion dollars World Cup dreams.
It was a cruel first half here at Belo Horizonte. In the same field that is graced by the legendary Ronaldinho week-in and week-out, and who was a crucial part in Brazil being able to lift the trophy that turned them into the Pentacampeões, Germany destroyed the host nation in the first half of the World Cup semifinal, thanks to goals by Thomas Müller, Miroslav Klose, a brace by Toni Kroos and a fifth charm by Sami Khedira.
10 minutes into the game, Thomas Müller would score his 5th goal in the tournament, when a Kroos corner-kick found the German pundit completely unmarked in the middle of the box, to lift his leg in the air in order to give the ball direction towards the back of Julio Cesar's net.
