After months and months of waiting, D.C. United is finally seeing some movement on a proposed stadium deal with Mayor Vincent Gray according to the Washington Post.

The bill if approved by the council, which would help acquire land blocks away from Nationals Park, would set in motion a series of complex land deals that would get United the land they need for a new stadium.

“The new soccer stadium is the final catalyst for what is certain to become one of the most vibrant and sustainable sports and retail districts in America," Gray said in a release.

The proposed $300 million stadium would have the city pay up to $150 million for the land and infrastructure, while the team would pay $150 million for the stadium itself.
