D.C. United has announced goalkeeper Bill Hamid will join the United States Men’s National Team for training camp and a friendly match against Canada on January 29.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper earned his first cap with the U.S. Men’s National Team last year, when he earned a shutout the United States’ 1-0 win over Venezuela on January 21, 2012. Hamid also served as starting goalie Tim Howard’s backup for six games in 2011.
Hamid had a career year with United in 2012, posting career-highs in saves, shutouts, and wins.
