Moments after setting up the game-winner Saturday night, midfielder John Thorrington left the match in the 75th minute with an apparent knee injury.
"It's heartbreaking," said the nine-season MLS veteran. "I was really enjoying myself out there but it's just one of those things. I went to block a shot. It's a freak thing, you know it happened to DeRo last year. I've come back from injuries before and I'll do it again."
Thorrington's substantial professional career has been plagued with injuries, though head coach Ben Olsen did not believe the injury to be severe.
"We've gotta check out his knee. We don't think it's anything season-ending but there's probably something in there."
An MRI is scheduled for Monday.
