Registration for the annual Run Amuck even opens on Monday, March 17 at www.marinemarathon.com.

Two events, Run Amuck and Mini Run Amuck, are scheduled to take place on June 14 on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va.

Anyone eight years or older can register for either event. Run Amuck features a four-mile course of mud pits and obstacles, while the smaller (but no less thrilling) Mini Run Amuck, is two miles long.

"Participants of both events can look forward to a vigorous, messy run through carefully constructed obstacles and a water blast shower courtesy of the Quantico Fire Department at the finish," Marine Corps Marathon Director Rick Nealis said.

Prospective participants can register for Run Amuck at a cost of $45. Mini Run Amuck is $25.

Media interested in Run Amuck or Mini Run Amuck should contact Tami Faram, MCM Public Relations Coordinator at 703-432-1840 or tami.faram@usmc.mil.
