Sandy Hook remembered at MCM with Team Daniel
When tragedy struck at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. last year, taking the lives of 26 people, Susan Olsen wanted to find a way to help.
She and her brother-in-law, Jeff, began a fundraising drive in concert with the upcoming Marine Corps Marathon to honor Daniel Barden, a first-grader who lost his life on that day.
The pledge was simple: Run the 26 miles of the Marine Corps Marathon to honor the 26 victims of the tragedy.
As Susan and Jeff trained, money began to pour in, exceeding early goals and now reaching more than $16,000 with days to go before the race.
Watch the story of their inspirational quest to raise money for Sandy Hook victims above.
