Freshman running back Wes Brown is the latest Maryland football player to go down with an injury. Brown, Maryland’s leading rusher, is scheduled to undergo season ending surgery on Friday to repair an injured labrum in his left shoulder.

Brown originally injured the shoulder against Wake Forest, but remained in the game. Brown missed last week’s game against Clemson with an ankle injury, but when he returned to practice this week he didn’t respond well so Maryland decided to proceed with shoulder surgery.

The Washington Post reports that Brown will be out around 20 weeks, meaning he will miss all of spring practice.

During his eight games this season Brown led the Terps with 90 carries for a 382 yards and two touchdowns.
