Maryland looks to be in prime position to land another star point guard, and the decision could come as soon as tomorrow.

Curtis Malone, famed head coach of the AAU juggernaut DC Assault, told CSN Washington that Bishop O'Connell point guard Romelo Trimble will make an announcement tomorrow declaring where he intends to play his college basketball.

Malone said that Trimble's announcement coming so early is a bit of surprise, but that the high school junior wants to get the recruitment process completed.

"I know for a fact that he liked Maryland a lot. There's no question about that," Malone said. "He loved Maryland. When he went over to Maryland for an unofficial [visit] he left there really excited they offered."

Trimble measures at 6'3", 180 lbs., and received a four-star rating from recruiting service Rivals.

Other colleges recruiting Trimble include ACC and Big East schools like Georgetown and N.C. State, but Malone said that Trimble always liked Maryland.

Trimble is a scoring guard working to transition to the point guard role in college. As a sophomore in the very competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, Trimble averaged about 20 points per game.

"Over the last two years nobody thought he would be a point guard," Malone said. "This kid did everything to be a point [guard]. He's proved to everybody he can play."

Malone said that Trimble is a high-character kid that worked very hard to develop all facets of his game, not just his scoring. Trimble will bring a lot to the Terps team and provides a versatility rarely seen in high school guards, Malone explained.

Other high-profile recruits will be in action on Saturday at the DMV Tipoff Classic, a collection of high school hoops games at Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. Powerhouse local teams like Dematha and Riverdale Baptist will be involved, as well as Acquille Carr of Princeton Day. For more information on the high school hoops showcase, check here
