Human instinct tells us to run away from fire, not to climb around barbed wire, and to avoid shooting water with enough pressure to move a school bus. But for the folks that run the Spartan Race, instinct is an afterthought.
Welcome to your home base for the Mid-Atlantic region Spartan Race, a an eight to nine mile race to be held August 23 at Virginia’s famed Wintergreen Resort. While best known for great skiing, when the Spartan Race comes to town, Wintergreen will host one of the most fun, grueling and exciting races in the region.
Cash prizes will be available to the winners, but the feeling or pride and accomplishment will come to all who complete the race. Anybody can run nine miles, but few can withstand the Spartan.
The best part? Nobody knows what will happen. There will be running, there will be water, there will be fire. But in what order? Who knows.
Spartan Race keeps its contestants guessing. There will be no course map. This race rewards the brave as well as the athletic.
