All signs point to Greyson Lambert starting this season at quarterback for Virginia and the redshirt sophomore is taking this responsibility very seriously.
Taking over at quarterback isn't just a matter of making good passes and handing the ball off, you have to have completely understand the playbook as you are running the offense. Lambert has certainly taken this lesson to heart as he works to master the offense both on and off the field.
"I did go to Walmart and get some paint that allows you to have a dry erase board on your wall and so I do have this big 6-by-6 foot square that I can do all my plays and stuff on my wall," said Lambert. "I actually have a projector as well to watch film in my room."
Lambert was voted a team captain in the spring before being named the starter by London. He took over the starting job from David Watford after Watford failed to meet unspecified offseason expectations.
Though we have yet to see what Lambert provides as the starter on the field, his work ethic off the field has been praised by London throughout the summer. Whether that will lead to better results on the field has yet to be seen.
