It is not rare to see some prominent guests at an NFL practice and on Wednesday the Redskins were no exception hosting Virginia head coach Mike London and members of his staff.
London visited Ashburn to take in a pro practice and support the two Cavaliers who now don the burgundy and gold. He was impressed by what he saw.
“The practices are very spirited, you know, very competitive,” said London.
Both Chase Minnifield and Morgan Moses are former Cavaliers and, as a rookie, the visit seemed to have particular meaning for Moses.
“It still feels like just yesterday I was on Grounds playing for coach London,” he said.
Moses was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Redskins. Now that the draft is over, rookie players are getting their first taste of NFL football and fighting to earn a roster spot. That challenge can be daunting to any player and having a familiar face at practice adding some encouragement can mean a lot.
“To have some of the coaching staff out here…just shows how much support I have,” said Moses.
London tweeted out some further encouragement to both of his former players after practice:
