Virginia Tech continues to live up to its reputation as DBU (defensive back university) with a commit from three-star safety Jahque Alleyne on Saturday. He made the announcement live on ESPN 94.1 FM.

Rivals.com ranks Alleyne as the 17th best player in the state and No. 33 safety in the nation. You can see highlights from his junior season here. He received offers from multiple other schools including Louisville, Virginia and Oregon.

Alleyne currently plays for Ocean Lakes in Virginia Beach, Va. and is the school’s second player from the 2015 class to commit to Division I football, the first being Jahvoni Simmons who committed to Virginia.

Alleyne is Virginia Tech’s 12th commit for 2015 and third defensive back.
