Coming off back-to-back defensive battles with the New Jersey Devils, Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau expects another tight game Tuesday night when his club visits the Nashville Predators.

Its like going from the frying pan to the fire, Boudreau said after seeing his team held to a combined 37 shots in two games against the Devils. Theyre both very tough defensive teams with great goaltending.

Boudreau is expected to turn to former Predators goaltender Tomas Vokoun (8-2-0, 2.39) tonight, while Nashville coach Barry Trotz is expected to go with Pekka Rinne (8-4-3, 2.28).

Boudreau said its hard to find a better defensive duo in the NHL than Nashvilles top pairing of Shea Weber and Ryan Suter, who have combined for five goals, 13 assists and a plus-17 rating.

They are the best pairing, I would think, in the National Hockey League, Boudreau said of the two 26-year-olds. What other pairings in history have been like those guys? Those guys are two of the best as a pairing that have come in a long, long time.
