By Ivan CarterCSNwashington.com ContributorSometimes after Gilbert Arenas would pull a Gilbert Arenas, former Wizards coach Eddie Jordan would attempt to answer media questions about his star's actions, ultimately stop trying, shake his head and then say: "Gilbertology" with aknowing grin. Former Washington Times beat writer John Mitchell and myself would then laugh, shrug our shoulders and move on. I mean, what else was there to say? Gilbert will be Gilbert. How else to explain last night's developments in which Gilbert either missed a preseason game because he was bothered by knee soreness or, he chose to fake the injury so Nick Young could start. Which is it? Who knows? Gilbertology baby....(Update: It seems that the powers-that-be have fined Gilbert for last night's act of Gilbertology and he apologized. Interesting. But know this: Gilbertology can't be stopped. It can't be slowed down. It can't be contained. Gilbertology just rolls along in it's own unpredictable yet oddly predictable pattern. There will be more. Oh brother, there will be more. The question is what?A present in a teammates shoe? Throwing the coach under the bus? Odd interviews about creating a chilren's cartoon? A card game gone wrong? Stay tuned.....) -The thing that did stand out about the game is this team's overall speed and quickness. It starts with John Wall of course but goes all the way through the lineup right up to the big fella, JaVale McGee. I'm not sure how many games this team will win in a much improved East but man, it will be a fun-to-watch group that could really cause some headaches on a given night..-Heading to the Caps-Isles game tonight after the show to see if the boys can make it three straight. Funny how three games into the season and the Caps are already the league's leading scoring team. Some things don't change. From where I sit, it appears that Mike Green is really on his game here in the early portion of the season. Thoughtson No.52 Caps fans? -If 4-1 Maryland goes down to Clemson and pulls out a win on Saturday, it's time to start taking the Terps seriously. Interesting stat from Eric Prisbell's story in today's Post: the Terps have 12 plays of 50 yards or longer so far this season after posting only 8 such plays all of last season. -So an NFL agent paidcollege players so he could rep them once they reached the NFL???? No way. I'm stunned. I mean, just shocked. Quick question: how is it that Scott Boras, the most powerful agent in all of sports, can be an "advisor" for Stephen Strasburg throughout his senior season at San Diego State and for 17-year old Bryce Harper while he's at JUNIOR COLLEGE without a problem but a college football player or hoops player who goes near an agent can get suspended? Can someone explain that to me please? -Good show on tap today folks: My interview with Skins DL Jeremy Jarmon, who pressured Aaron Rodgers into throwing that interception in OT Sunday plus Doc Walker, Mike Wise and Jason Reid talking Skins-Colts, the Favre situation and more.
