Biggest surprise from last week in the ACC
Virginias win over Miami was outstanding last Thursday. The Cavaliers were disciplined on defense and their running game was once again stellar. If only they could play like this consistently...
Biggest letdown from last week in the ACC
Clemsons loss to Georgia Tech. For the first time since Florida State was in the national championship game in 2001 the ACC was finally being mentioned in the national title conversation. Yes, the credit goes to Georgia Tech for bringing it Saturday night and taking down the Tigers but with that victory, the ACC returns to mediocrity.

If you can believe it, Saturday is the final home game of the season for the Terps. Only about 10,000 people showed up to last Saturdays game against Boston College (yes I know, crappy weather, not so great opponent, etc.). Randy Edsall appealed to fans during Tuesdays press conference and athletic director Kevin Anderson sent an e-mail to Terp Nation earlier this week asking them to support the football team. I do expect a bigger crowd Saturday against Virginia but that might be because of the number of Virginia fans.
Virginia @ Maryland
Not a lot to choose from this weekend so Im going with Virginia at Maryland. Plenty on the line for both teams. First of all, its a border battle that always brings out the best (and worst) in both players and fans. For the Terps, theyre playing for pride and just trying to click. For the Cavaliers, they are just one win away from becoming bowl eligible. Obviously theyll want to keep winning but thats a pretty nice achievement in Mike Londons second season as head coach.
PREDICTION: VIRGINIA

Heres a couple of fun facts for you Wahoo fans. Virginia freshmen have combined for 12 touchdowns this season. Also, against Miami, running back Perry Jones became the first Cavalier to throw and receive a touchdown pass in the same game since Heath Miller did it in 2002. Not bad company to be in.

Latest from Blacksburg
Bye Week. The Hokies play their next two games on Thursday night. Next week at Georgia Tech and then 1117 against North Carolina in Blacksburg. The UNC game will be televised on ESPN 3D.
Biggest CAA news from last week
Towson had a chance to stay atop the CAA standings but fell to Delaware 35-30. The Tigers are now tied for 2nd with New Hampshire and have a tough matchup this weekend against 1st place Maine.
CAA game of the week
I mentioned it earlier. Towson at Maine is definitely the game to keep an eye on this
weekend. Maine has sole possession of first place in the CAA while the Tigers are looking to bounce back from last weekends loss and upset the Bears.
PREDICTION: TOWSON
