Gregg Rosenthal of Pro Football Talk believes the Redskins waited too long with regards to Albert Haynesworth and should have traded the veteran defensive tackle before the trade deadline. However, the story points out that maybe the 'Skins weren't eager to trade Haynesworth, who has been unhappy with his role in the Washington defense since Mike Shanahan came on board.
Where Do They Rank?Don Banks of CNNSI.com has his latest NFL power rankings out. Below is what he had to say about the Redskins, but where does he have them ranked?
"I remember seeing Redskins running back Ryan Torain in training camp," Banks writes, "and thinking he looked like he could help Washington. But running against the Colts (like he did last week, for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries) is not the same thing as running against the Bears (his challenge this week, in Chicago). But it does appear Mike Shanahan has found himself another quality young runner."
A Change on the PK?
NHL.com's Dan Rosen looks at the Capitals' altering of how they kill penalties. They were 25th in the league in the PK last year and now they are one of the league's best, having fought off 25 straight.
Writes Rosen: "The system here is the story. Just about everything the Capitals are doing this season is different from last season."
One Confident KidBryce Harper is nothing if not confident. He recently said that he believes the Nationals will be "the Yankees of the NL East" in a couple of years. Yahoo's David Brown has the details.
What is Yi's Potential?Bleacher Report's Michael Mohajeri breaks down Yi Jianlian and how much potential the Wizards' forward really has.
"His biggest strength is his versatility," Mohajeri writes in part, adding "he is a poor defender" and "needs to spend a bit more time down low."
Check out the rest of Mohajeri's scouting report here.
