Although Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett stopped short of saying LaRon Landry was being shut down because of injury or O.J. Atogwe would remained benched, he did name rookie DeJon Gomes a starter for the final three games.
Gomes made his first NFL start at safety last week against New England.
Landry hasnt practiced in several weeks because of groin and Achilles injuries and Atogwe has fought multiple ailments in his first year with the Redskins.
Right now were going to go with D.J. the rest of the way, Haslett said.
Reed Doughty is expected to start at free safety and Gomes as a strong safety playing closer to the line of scrimmage.
Landry has missed five games and Atogwe two entire games and a third when he was active but did not play.
