"Hopefully, message delivered, message received," Wizards coach Flip Saunders said after practice today which the Wizards weren't kicked out of as the team prepares for Houston tomorrow night at Verizon Center. "We had better overall concentration, more concentrated effort mentally and physically and we comprehended more things and got through things today," Saunders said.
On Monday, Saunders ordered the team out of practice because he thought the effort was terrible. So bad in fact, he called for another practice yesterday afternoon which Saunders said went much like today with a lot more focus and effort.
Saunders was so ticked off by the events of Monday, he threatened that some players minutes might be in jeopardy starting with the Rockets game tomorrow night. "I think right now up front we do need to rebound the ball and we need to defend. So guys that have the ability to rebound and defend might have a chance for opportunities," Saunders said.
That could suggest more minutes for rookie forwards Trevor Booker and Kevin Saraphin, both first round picks, who both have basically not played this season.
