Sitting John Wall tonight to rest up his ailing knee and foot is absolutely the right move by him and the team. There is no need for Wall to rush back and play and perhaps make the injury even worse than it is right now. I am sure it's tough for Wall to sit out against the two time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, but long term and big picture, he needs to get back to 100 percent before he takes the floor again.

It has been painfully obvious at times that the foot and now knee has slowed Wall down considerably on the court. Speed is Wall's greatest attribute and without it he can be ineffective like he was against the Knicks in that loss on Friday night when he was basically hobbling the entire second half. Wall should take all the time he needs to heal up before he plays again. The number one overall pick is undoubtedly the present and we would like to see him in the future dominating in a Wizards uniform. He just has to get healthy first.

Notes: Without forward Andray Blatche in the lineup tonight with a sore knee, coach Flip Saunders will start Yi Jianlian for the first time this season and Kirk Hinrich will get the start in place of Wall.
