Observations from todays morning skate, the Capitals firstunder new head coach Dale Hunter:
--Olie Kolzig, a close friend of Hunter and a rovinginstructor for the Capitals, was on the ice but said that was a pre-scheduled visit and that he is only staying in D.C. until Thursday. For now, assistant coaches Bob Woodsand Dean Evason will remain on staff. Among those Hunter may consider for his assistantcoaches are Kolzig, Calle Johansson, Craig Berube and Alan May.--Right wing Mike Knuble was on the top power-play unit withAlex Ovechkin and Alex Semin up front and Brooks Laich and Dmitry Orlov at thepoints.
--Defenseman John Erskine says hes ready to return to thelineup after missing the last four games with shoulder weakness. Hes expectedto take Jeff Schultz spot in the lineup.--The line combinations for the Capitals appear to be thesame. Ovechkin is skating with Nicklas Backstrom and Troy Brouwer; MarcusJohansson is between Cody Eakin and Semin; Liach is between Jason Chimera andJoel Ward; and Jeff Halpern is between Matt Hendricks and Knuble.--Defenseman Mike Green (groin) skated for about 40 minutes for the second straight day and has now skated on three of the past four days.
