Comcast SportsNet's Chick Hernandez is reporting that Maryland forward Jordan Williams is seriously considering declaring for the NBA draft. Hernandez is reporting that Williams has his mind set on leaving College Park, but that the 6-foot-10 sophomore's parents want him to play for NBA scouts and see he might be drafted before signing with an agent.
The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NBA draft is April 24. Underclassmen then have until May 8 to withdraw from the draft and maintain their eligibility only if they have not yet hired an agent.
Williams led the Terps in scoring in 2010-2011, averaging 16.9 points per game while starting in each of Maryland's 33 contests. The native of Torrington, Conn., also led Maryland in rebounding with an average of nearly 12 boards. He was named first-team All-ACC earlier this month.
