Defensive lineman Darrion Scott is expected to be in uniform for a third straight game when the Redskins play the New York Jets on Sunday. This after he was a healthy scratch for the first eight games, he was released and re-signed a week later. In the two games since his return, Scott has played 41 snaps and the coaches have credited him with five tackles.I think hes done well, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said. Scotty is a solid player. He got caught up in the numbers game. You know what youre going to get from him. He gives great effort.Scott, a third-round pick by Minnesota seven years ago, played for Haslett with the UFLs Florida Tuskers in 2009 and is seeing his first significant NFL action in five years. One can only imagine, he said of seeing regular playing time. Not dress the whole season, get released and then come back, its been one of the best feelings Ive had in a long time. The biggest thing for me is having a chance to play. As far as my future here, I have no clue, but to have this opportunity, it could extend my career a little bit.Scott started 28 games for the Vikings in 2005-06 (9.5 sacks), but battled injuries for two years. He was in camp with the Redskins last year, re-signed last December, made this years opening roster but didnt get a chance to play. When he was cut last month, Scott said he thought his season was over.Honestly, I did because I hadnt put any games on film or games that counted on film, he said.Scott could see more playing time against the Jets because Stephen Bowen missed most of practice this week with a knee injury.
