While there are lots of varying opinions out there about Peyton Manning as a potential option for the Redskins, you can count D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray among those who do not want to see the future Hall of Fame QB in Washington.
You can see the video here, with the key part starting around the 11-minute mark. In terms of the noteworthy quote, here is the text from Gray, a lifelong Redskins fan, speaking to host Bruce DuPuyt:
You know, I think it depends on what role he would play, Bruce. But I really think the Redskins need a quarterback that they can build with for the future. You know, Andrew Luck is probably going to go to the Colts, but theres Robert Griffin III, and theres a couple other promising quarterbacks that are out there. Weve kind of been down this pathway with quarterbacks whove been great but maybe are in the back end of their career, and even if he comes in and plays a year or two, where do we go from there?
