Entering the Miami game, Rocky McIntosh had started 68 of the Redskins last 76 games at linebacker. But his recent performance combined with Perry Rileys improved play in practice equaled a spot on the sideline that will continue Sunday against Dallas.McIntosh played only four of 67 snaps against the Dolphins. In the first eight games, he played 96.2 percent of the snaps (487 of 506).I think Rocky, his first four games, played really well and then the last couple, he didnt, but thats not really , said defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, choosing not to finish the sentence. Rockys a good football player, but we think Perrys active, hes fast and its a good opportunity to give him a chance.McIntosh rarely talks to reporters and doesnt have much to say when he does so well do our own reading of the lines: The Redskins want to see if Riley can be a 2012 starter alongside London Fletcher (if they choose to retain him) or a starter at either inside linebacker spot depending on their plans.McIntosh returned to the Redskins this year after his rookie contract expired. He signed a one-year deal.
