For all the chatter about their improved effort and play, the Washington Wizards have lost two straight games dropping to 7-24 overall. Washington has a real test standing in front of them on Monday night when they close out their five-game road trip at 12-19 Phoenix.
With a win, the Wizards would return home for the first time since 2005 with a winning record on a five-game road trip.
That's a long time for a franchise to come up so empty, isn't it?
So, this is a big game in terms of where this rebuilding team is because it has struggled so mightily away from D.C. A win versus Phoenix could go a long way in bolstering the mental makeup of this youthful team.
Are the Wizards satisfied with the start of the road trip when they picked up impressive wins over Detroit and Portland? Are they happy that they have already equaled the win total on the road of last season when they went 3-38?
I don't think so.
One player clearly not satisfied is John Wall. The second-year point guard has really come on lately for the Wizards, averaging 18 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds in the month of February.
We should find out a lot about this Wizards team on Monday night before they return home.
