The Redskins started their sixth different offensive line combination of the season against the Patriots and they were making changes on the fly.The planned starting lineup of, from left to right, Sean Locklear, Maurice Hurt, Will Montgomery, Chris Chester, and Jammal Brown, had been used twice before this year, in Weeks 7 and 8 against Carolina and Buffalo. The change back to this line was forced when left tackle Trent Williams was suspended for the rest of the season. However, Brown aggravated a groin injury during pregame warmups and he could go. Tyler Polumbus, who is developing into a valuable utility lineman, was pressed into duty at Browns right tackle spot. Then on the Redskins second possession, rookie Willie Smith came in at left tackle. He settled in after Andre Carter beat him for a sack that lead to a Patriots touchdown and played most of the rest of the game.Judging by the offensive results, the makeshift line did a good job. The Redskins posted 463 yards of total offense including 170 on the ground. Rex Grossman was sacked just twice and he frequently had a lot of time to throw. If Smith ends up starting at left tackle on Sunday against the Giants you can add a seventh different O-line combo to the list. Here are the starting O-line combinations the Redskins have used so far this year (left to right).Williams, Kory Lichtensteiger, Montgomery, Chester, Brown5 games
Locklear, Montgomery, Erik Cook, Chester, Brown2 games
Williams, Hurt, Montgomery, Chester, Brown3 games
Williams, Hurt, Montgomery, Chester, Locklear1 game
Williams, Polumbus, Montgomery, Chester, Brown1 game
