Put Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in the group who claims to be paying no attention to scuttlebutt that Rex Grossman could possibly get a start at quarterback before the end of the season.

After the Redskins returned from a nearby fitness center where they were forced to practice, Shanahan said there has not been a shift in how many practice reps Donovan McNabb gets with the starters.

The report really isnt relevant in what Im doing unless Im told something, he said. Theres no difference this week than last week so theres nothing to talk about until I know something.

Shanahan said McNabbs recent play has been up and down. It was good last week and I thought the final drive was one of his best drives of the year.

Injury Report
Cornerback Carlos Rogers (hamstring) appears to be on track to return after missing three of the last four games.

Defensive end Kedric Golston (groinelbow) did not practice.

Rogers was listed as limited along with linebacker Lorenzo Alexander (hamstring), receiver Brandon Banks (knee), defensive end Phillip Daniels (abdomen) and safety Kareem Moore (knee).

Jarmon Set To Play
Injuries to Golston and Daniels will provide an opportunity for second-year defensive end Jeremy Jarmon. Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said Jarmon will be active against the Cowboys.

Jarmon has played only two games and 24 snaps this year. He hasnt been active since Week 6 against Indianapolis.

Hell play some this week; he might play a lot this week, Haslett said.

Getting Cooley Involved
Tight end Chris Cooley was limited to two catches against Tampa Bay he was without a reception until the Redskins final drive.

I dont think he has any frustration with how hes being used, Kyle Shanahan said. We want to give him the ball, we want to get everybody the ball.

Cooley is second on the Redskins with 62 catches but has only two touchdowns and hasnt seen the end zone since Week 4 at Philadelphia.

Pleased With Doughty
With LaRon Landry on injured reserve, Reed Doughty is expected to finish out the season as his replacement in the starting lineup. According to the coachs statistics, Doughty has 36 tackles in the four games since Landry was shut down.

I like the way Reeds playing, Haslett said. Hes really better around the box like most guys but hes smart and he does exactly you want to a T. Expect for one bad play in the Giants game, hes played extremely well.

Doughty has played in all 240 defensive snaps the last four games.

When you lose a player like LaRon, it just depletes the depth were a better team with him out there, Doughty said. I think Ive played well and attacked the run game.
