Note: Free agency based on rules from 2009 and previous years of four years of NFL experience to become a free agent. The guidelines for this year are as yet undetermined pending resolution of the NFL lockout. Good fit Ryan Harris, Broncos 6-5, 299, age 26
Drafted by Broncos in 3rd round (70 overall) in 2007
Career: 46 games, 34 starts The Broncos appear to be ready to move on from their starter for the past three years and Mike Shanahan, who drafted him in Denver, may be quite willing to take him off of their hands. He is a solid zone blocking tackle. Harris missed six games with an ankle injury last year and eight games in 2009 with a toe injury, so they have to be cautious but at age 26 he could have a lot of good football left. Other good fit: Guard Davin Joseph of the Bucs has a nasty streak and was playing at a Pro Bowl level until a broken foot landed him in IR in November. Bad Fit Robert Gallery, Raiders 6-7, 325, age 30
Drafted by Raiders in 1st round (2 overall) in 2004
Career: 92 games, 91 starts A recent report said that Gallery was looking for a contract worth some 8 million a year. He probably wont find it and if he does it should be from a team other than the Redskins. Eight million per year is way too much for a guard who will be 31 before next season starts, who has never made a Pro Bowl in seven years in the league and who has missed 14 games the past two seaso.s? They say he has a nasty attitude on the field. That may be so, but hes clearly a dreamer off the field. Other bad fit: It appeared for a while that Jared Gaither of the Ravens was an up and coming star but that was before he missed the entire 2010 season with back problems. He may regain his form but he will want to play left tackle and that position is taken on the Redskins.
