The Redskins have moved on to their third punter of the season, signing Sam Paulescu on Tuesday and releasing Hunter Smith according to Comcast SportsNet. They've also signed defensive lineman Jeremy Clark to their 53-man roster and rookie defensive lineman Joe Joseph to their practice squad.

Although they worked out kickers, the Redskins opted to change their punterholder, a sign Graham Gano (ribs) will be available to play Sunday at Dallas and the coaching staff remains committed to him despite an NFL-high 10 missed field goals.

Paulescu played one game for the Redskins last year when Smith nursed a nagging groin injury, punting three times for a 45-yard net average at Atlanta. For his career, Paulescu has a 42.4-yard average on 85 career punts, including 23 inside the 20-yard line. Paulescu, also saw action in five games for Tampa Bay last season, 10 for Dallas in 2008, and one for Denver in 2007.

Smith started last year with the Redskins but wasnt re-signed. He started a second tour with the team after Josh Bidwell was placed on injured reserve with a hip injury. In nine games this year, he averaged 33.7 yards net on 57 punts.

The Redskins worked out kickers Kris Brown, Nick Novak (a former Redskin) and Chris Gould on Tuesday.

Clark (6-3, 295), was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as a college free agent on May 14, 2007, before being released following training camp on Sept. 2. He signed to the practice squad on Sept. 3 and spent his entire rookie season there. Clark was waived by the Eagles on June 12, 2008.

He signed with the New York Giants on July 27, 2008, before being released following training camp on Aug. 30 and signed to the practice squad on Aug. 31. Clark was signed to the active roster on Nov. 29, appearing in four games and collecting three tackles, including one for loss. He was released from the Giants on Sept. 5, 2009.

Clark signed with the Atlanta Falcons practice squad on Sept. 22, 2009, before being released on Dec. 1, and signing with the Giants practice squad on Dec. 4. He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals off of the Giants practice squad on Jan. 10, 2010, and was inactive for both of the Cardinals postseason contests. He was released by the Cardinals on Sept. 5.

Clark signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 10, 2010, and was active for their Week 10 game at the New York Giants and Week 11 game vs. Detroit. He was released on Dec. 12.

Before entering the NFL, Clark played collegiately at Alabama, where he was a four-year starter. He finished his career with 85 tackles, 4.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss.

Clark was born on Sept. 6, 1983, in Daphne, Ala.

Joseph (6-2, 315) was originally signed by the Tennessee Titans as a college free agent on April 30, 2010, before being released following training on Sept. 4. He joined the New York Giants practice squad on Dec. 1, 2010, before being released on Dec. 14. During four preseason games with the Titans, Clark had three tackles and one pass defensed.

Joseph played collegiately at Miami (Fla.), where he appeared in 37 games with 25 starts. He finished his career with 71 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, eight quarterback pressures, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery.

Joseph was born on Oct. 20, 1985, in Orlando, Fla., where he attended the citys Oak Ridge High School.
