One of the players that drew interest from the Redskins during the post-lockout, free agent frenzy was Santonio Holmes. He ultimately re-signed with the Jets and enters Sundays game tied for second on the team with five touchdown catches.Holmes was in demand because of his late-game ability.According to the Jets, since 1983, no receiver has caught more touchdown passes (five) in the final minute of fourth quarterovertime than Holmes, including playoffs. Holmes caught a 6-yard TD pass with 35 seconds remaining to lift Pittsburgh to a Super Bowl win over Arizona three years ago.Holmes and Plaxico Burress form a tough duo for the Redskins to match up against Holmes because of his speed, Burress because of his 6-foot-5 frame.Holmes enters with 37 catches for 494 yards, but his 13.4-yard average represents a career low. But he has Redskins coach Mike Shanahans attention.Theyre good compliments, Shanahan said of HolmesBurress. Holmes has the big-play ability any second, he can strike and there arent very many guys who can run a 4.3-second, 40-yard dash with pads on. Anytime hes out there, he has the capability of going the distance and youre always looking for that type of guy.In his only game against the Redskins a Monday night game in 2008 Holmes had three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown in a Steelers victory.
