The Wizards' road woes were well-documented last season as they got off to a 0-25 record away from D.C., not picking up their first road win until last February. The Wizards don't want to come close to letting that happen again this year but currently they are 0-7 on the road, 3-15 overall. The Wizards visit 10-8 Houston tonight.
"We haven't gotten a road win yet this season and this is our chance to get one playing against a Houston Rockets team that's playing well lately, but there is no reason why they aren't beatable," Wizards forward Rashard Lewis said. "This is our chance to go out on the road and get us a win. We can't have it like last season when we went winless for a long time."
The Wizards snapped a three-game losing streak with a workmanlike 93-75 win over Charlotte at Verizon Center Wednesday night, and they hope to carry over the little momentum that they have onto the road.
"Hopefully, we can grow from this and realize what it takes to win at the Rockets," forward Andray Blatche said.
One thing the Wizards have to do obviously is score more than their 82 points a game on the road, as opposed to 92 points per at home. Guard Nick Young averages 19 points a game at Verizon Center but eight points less on the road,
"Just go out there and play your hardest, that's the main thing," Young said.
