Washington The Celtics Rajon Rondo, who had 27 assists in two games against the Wizards to start the month, heads into Sundays game at Verizon Center with a wrist injury. The Wizards cant count on Rondos bad wrist to give them a hand, but need to build on games against the Thunder and Nuggets.

We have the confidence now and feel like we can win any game, said Wizards guard Jordan Crawford. We need to take what weve learned from these last two games and make better decisions moving forward. After the win against Oklahoma City, we have higher expectations for ourselves.

The 105-102 win over the Thunder was a collective effort that reinforced to the Wizards the importance of team play. Rebounds and defensive plays like charges were equally important to points as the Wizards found a way to score over 100 points on the 38 percent shooting from the field.

In fact the Wizards have now scored over 100 points three consecutive games. On Friday against the Nuggets, the Wizards did not as much lose the game as they were beaten by a veteran team with an endless array of offensive options. Only 11 turnovers by the Wizards game them a chance to compete before failing 108-104

They are a good team, the Nuggets Al Harrington said after scoring 29 points against the Wizards. They are just young and in my personal opinion they are just a couple of veterans away. I take my hat off to them, because they played extremely hard. Obviously, they were playing with a lot of confidence after they beat Oklahoma City.

It was actually the previous meetings against the Celtics that gave the Wizards their first shot of confidence. The Wizards lost both games in the home and home series by 8 points, but actually carried a lead into the fourth quarter in Boston. In that road contest there were 11 ties and 17 lead changes.

Andray Blatche has had a history of productive games against the Celtics and in Boston he scored a game-high 28 points. Production out of the forward position is a concern for the Wizards. Blatche is battling through a sprained right shoulder, while Rashard Lewis has struggled with a sore right knee.

Trevor Booker started when Blatche missed three games because of his ailing shoulder, and Chris Singleton has stepped in for Lewis. Offense is not the strong suit for either Booker or Singleton. Fortunately for the Wizards guards John Wall, Nick Young and Jordan Crawford had their best offensive week of the season, the trio combined to score 192 points over the last three games for an average of 64 points per game.

The Celtics are hoping to have Rondo back on the floor today. Rondo did not play in Fridays loss to the Suns after spraining his right wrist in Wednesdays win over Toronto. Without Rondo, the Celtics stumbled to only 71 points against the Suns.
