Redskins owner Dan Snyder has refiled a 1 million defamation lawsuit in D.C. court against the Washington City Paper and one of the publications reporters.

The lawsuit was originally filed in New York earlier this year, but the updated suit removes the hedge fund that owns City Paper.

Snyders attorney, Patty Glaser, cited reckless reporting during a half-hour media conference call Tuesday morning.

Snyder announced the refiling in an op-ed piece he wrote for Tuesdays Washington Post.

Glaser said the lawsuit would be dropped if the City Paper in general and Dave McKenna in particular issue apologies or retractions.

People have to take responsibility for getting it wrong, Glaser said. Its just not right, and people need to put a stop to this.

In the op-ed, Snyder cited a November 2010 story that said Snyder was caught forging names as a telemarketer for Snyder Communications.

An absolute untruth, Glaser said.

Glaser said if Snyder were awarded money in the suit, he would donate it entirely to charity.
