On Tuesday, we had the expected with Tim Hightower being put on injured reserve. We also had the unexpected when the Redskins announced that Chris Cooley was going on the injured reserve. But that is yesterdays news. Todays news is consequences of losing two offensive starters for the year. The first order of business will be for the Redskins to fill the two roster spots. They almost certainly will try to sign somebody before practice in the early afternoon and we should find out something at some point in the morning. At the podium in the morning we will have John Beck who will talk about going into his second start without Cooley, Hightower, and Santana Moss, who is out five to seven weeks with a broken hand.In the locker room, well talk to the guys who will have increased roles with Moss, and Hightower outrunning backs Ryan Torain and Roy Helu and wide receivers Anthony Armstrong, Niles Paul, Terrence Austin (pictured), and Leonard Hankerson. After practice is over we might have a first chance to talk to the new additions to the roster. Then Mike Shanahan will talk and well find out more about why Cooley wound up on injured reserve (we suspect that a trip to see Dr. Andrews about his knee had more to do with it than the broken finger). Well also hear what he has to say about the new players and get a first look forward to the Bills. What we talked about recently:Terrell Owens to the Redskins? Not happening.Roy Helu finished the game against the Panthers. Will he start against the Bills?John Beck is trying to be the anti-Rex.Who will replace Cooley and Hightower on the roster?Mike Shanahan said he needs to do a better job of getting his players ready. What did he mean by that?
