Gee, what is there to talk about around Redskins Park during Week 13?Davis and WilliamsAs of Tuesday morning, there still was no official word that tight end Fred Davis and left tackle Trent Williams have been suspended. Mike Shanahan would not discuss the situation during his Monday presser, citing confidentiality rules. (He skirted these rules when he was with the Broncos and paid a price.) But he did not deny the reports either, a sign that it was a matter of when, not if, the formal announcement would be made. We should know at some point today as Shanahan said that in his experience in such matters the players would be suspended prior to the start of the practice week on Wednesday.Who replaces them? After the suspensions are announced, there will be roster moves and changes to the starting lineup. Well talk to the new additions and to players such as tight end Logan Paulsen about their new roles.
There is a gameOh, yeah, Tom Brady and the Patriots are coming to town. A fully focused team will have problems slowing down that offensive attack. If the Redskins are in the least bit distracted by the events swirling around them this one could get ugly in a hurry. The linemen will address the importance of getting pressure on Brady, the backs will talk about his quick release, and Jim Haslett will be asked about how to slow them down. When it rains, they still get wetAfter a few weeks of dry weather during the practice part of the week, the rains should be returning to Ashburn with an all-day soaker on Wednesday. The Redskins will have to practice outside as they have been since the practice bubble is not nearly complete. It is starting to take shape as you can see from the picture taken last week. But even though Im not an expert on construction of such things, I think it is safe to say that the Redskins will not be preparing for a 2011 season game in their new indoor facility.
