Problems against the runIn this mornings edition of Four Downs, Ryan OHalloran takes a quick look at the Redskins inability to stop the other teams running game, a phenomenon that coincides with the teams current three-game losing streak. During the week we will dig further into it and see what we can find out about why this has been happening.Choices roleAlong with being unable to stop the run, with the exception of the first half of the Carolina game the Redskins have had problems running the ball during their post-bye slump. They certainly dont expect ex-Cowboy Tashard Choice, who the Redskins claimed off of waivers, to be an instant solution to their woes but they certainly hope he can be a piece of the puzzle. Well talk to Choice and see where he is physically as he was waived-injured by the Cowboys with a shoulder problem, although he did play in every game this season. Given the fact that the Shanahans keep information about the roles of the running backs shrouded in secrecy, we are unlikely to see if Choice will be part of the rotation or if he is here strictly for depth until game time.A new ankle injury and an old oneSince he finished the game in Toronto, there was no reason to think that there were any injury concerns involving Fred Davis. He was spotted at Redskins Park yesterday, however, wearing a walking boot. Mike Shanahan said that he had a grade 1 ankle sprain. That is the least serious sprain but that doesnt mean that it is a given that he will play against the 49ers. Shanahan also said that Trent Williams (pictured) could return this week from the high ankle sprain that has caused him to miss the last two games. Well monitor the injury reports through the week to see how he and Davis are progressing.Offensive futilityThe goose egg on the scoreboard at the end of the game on Sunday is a stark reminder that the Redskins have had problems scoring points. These issues stretch back for years, predating Mike Shanahans arrival. The Buffalo game may have been the low point but the problems are not going to fix themselves. This week well talk to the offensive players and see if anything different is being tried or if they are trying to do a better job at what they have been doing. What do you want us to talk about this week?
