Former Miami head coach Randy Shannon has been offered the defensive coordinator's job at Maryland, The Baltimore Sun reports.
The Terps lost defensive coordinator Don Brown, who left new head coach Randy Edsall's staff last week to take the same position at Connecticut.
The Sun said an unnamed source indicated Shannon wants the job, though no agreement was in place yet. Shannon was a defensive coordinator for six years before taking over as the Hurricanes head coach in 2007. Shannon was 28-22 in four seasons at Miami and was fired after going 7-5 in 2010.
