Heading into the combine, NFL.com offers up itslatest rankingof the top 100 prospectswith the local college stars among them...This list followed the general consensus at running back, slottingVirginia Tech's David Wilson (43) third behind Miami's Lamar Miller (36) and well back of Alabama's Trent Richardson (6). Even if the speedy underclassman and ACC Player of the Year does not run his way into Round 1, Wilson could find a home early in the second with teams like the Buccaneers and Browns potentially in the market for backfield help. Wilson racked up 1,709 yards and nine touchdowns for the Hokies last season. Virginia's Chase Minnifield (49)ranks sixth among the 15 cornerbacks listed among the top 100. This New York Times scouting report projects the 6-foot but slender Minnifield with his impressive "technique in off coverage and his ball skills" somewhere between the mid-second and third round.Jayron Hosley (88) left Virginia Tech with one year eligibility remaining and one year after leading the nation with nine interceptions. The 5-10, 172-pound junior cornerback finished his season with a career-high in tackles, but a hamstring injury limited his production and his draft projection has dipped into the third-to-fourth-round range
