Santana Moss was on his way to a productive season during the first five games of this season. With Rex Grossman passing to him for all but one quarter of those five games he had 23 receptions for 284 yards. If you project that out over a 16-game season you have him with 73 catches for 909 yards. That would be down from last season, when he had 93 receptions for 1115 yards, but still a good contribution to the offense. Then, in the sixth game, two things happened. During the week prior to the game, Grossman was benched in favor of John Beck. And in the first half of that game against the Panthers, Moss broke his hand. Some pins were surgically inserted and Moss joined Grossman as a spectator. With Grossman and Moss in the lineup, the Redskins averaged 19.2 points per game. In three games with John Beck at quarterback and various receivers attempting to fill Moss role, the Redskins scoring average plummeted to 10.1.Grossman has been back at the helm for two games now. Moss will join him in the lineup on Sunday and we will see if the two can move the chains and pump a little more life into the Redskins offense.Im glad to be back going, Moss said. I just want to go out and help turn this thing around.Turning it around would mean helping to improve an offense that currently ranks 27th in points scored and 23rd in points allowed.
