CSNwashington.comRedskins RoundupRecapping the shootout loss plus four key notes from Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Patriots (O'Halloran - CSNwashington)Rex Grossman struggled looking another loss straight in the eye (Snider - Washington Examiner)Where has this been all season??? (Daly - Washington Times)...I'd say give credit to the Patriots woeful secondary and the Mike Shanahan's ego wanting a piece of Bill Belichick for the production and creativity, right? Once again Roy Helu shines, racking yards with one rushing burst after another. (Boswell - Washington Post)...Everyone that follows my fantasy football take knows I told owners to draft and stash the shifty rookie, whofrom the start hadlottery ticket type potential playing behind injury prone vets. Clearly fantasy players have been cashing in and Helu's multi-dimensional skill set has staying power, though I would caution anyone believing the 5-11, 219 pounder back is the long-term, full-time answer. The Redskins won't need to invest tons in a veteran counterpart, but a power back remains a need for 2012 as Helu's explosive style will lose pop if ground down with 20-plus touches week in and week out. Don't get swayed by the scoring surge(Snyder - Washington Times)London Fletcher speaks for any fan of hitting when he was flagged for a late hit on slow-to-slide Tom Brady: "What can you do" (Pro Football Talk)NFL Recap Sure, the Redskins lost again, but at least they didn't blow a 12-point lead late in the fourth quarter. How 'bout them Cowboys! (Associated Press)Nearly a record-setting day for the Ravens defenseagainst the woeful Colts(CSNbaltimore)It's been a while since I mentioned the Cowboys suffered an agonizing loss. Didn't want you to forget (NY Times)Tim Tebow followed the script; struggle mightily in the passing game throughout only to rise up in the final minutes and rally the Broncos to another win, their seventh in eight games with the second-year player taking snaps. The vanquished Bears, or at least their star linebacker Brian Urlacher, not exactly impressed by what Tebow offers as a quarterback. "He's a good running back"(Pro Football Talk)Breakfast BuffetNew Wizards big man Ronny Turiaf on joining a team that wanted his veteran interior ways (Washington Post)Terps 17-year-old linebacker Alex Twine emerged asrising star, at least a building blockover the losing season's final weeks, but the rising defender getting arrested on his 18th birthday takes away some of the shine (Washington Post)Considering Dwight Howard and Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith have not spoken since the All-Star center's trade request, looks like noreconciliation in the Magic Kingdom (Associated Press)
