Wizards free agent forward Yi Jianlian has become the latest NBA player to suffer an injury while playing overseas during the lockout.
Yi, playing for Guangdong Hongyuan, was hurt when a teammate fell into his right leg while scuffling with Beijings Stephon Marbury. Yi was taken to a hospital and is expected to miss two to four weeks with what doctors are calling a strained ligament in his right knee.
Last season, Yi missed 19 games for the Wizards because of an injury on that same right knee. In 63 games he averaged just 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds. Yi is a restricted free agent and the Wizards will have the first right of refusal on any offer sheet another team might sign him to.
