Extra, extra, read all about it. Teams with bad contracts can get rid of at least one players current deal and not have it go against the salary cap. What a concept! Since most of those alleged bad deals were signed by the same general managers that persuaded their owners to write the check.
What I dont understand is why would a team cut a player and have to use the same money to go out and find a solution. Unless, of course they are on the verge of a championship.
In the case of the Wizards, it makes no sense whatsoever to amnesty any player on this current roster, because the reality is, barring some miracle, this team is in Year 2 of collecting talent to surround John Wall.
Wall, Kevin Seraphin,Trevor Booker, Hamady Ndiaye, Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton and Shelvin Mack will have in two years changed the culture at Verizon Center. The Wizards have gone from The Big Three of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler to a young athletic team full of upside.
Two of the former Big Three players are now rumored to be amnesty bait on their current teams.
So for those of you wanting the Wizards to use this magical GM bean, think what would be the alternative as camp is now 24 hours away.
