NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

HOUSTON TEXANS (3)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 5) - Demolition of Ravens an absolute eye-opener.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 3) - Head into their bye week as the team to beat in the AFC, after whipping Ravens.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 2)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 2) - dominant defense, terrific running game and a QB that doesn't make many mistakes ... formula for success.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 3) - Texans in bounce-back mode as they recover from beatdown by Packers the week before and absolutely demolish the Ravens at home to maintain AFC supremacy.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 2) - The Texans are rewarded for their franchise-best 6-1 start with a bye this week. Baltimore, Buffalo and Cincinnati also have byes in Week 8.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 3) - Is it just me or does it seem as if everyone else in the AFC is playing for second?

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 2) - Every week, J.J. Watt finds a way to put a charge into this marauding defense.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 2) - A dominating defense and a solid offense with an impressive win over a bet up Raven team 43-13.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 2) - After a big disappointment vs. the Packers, the Texans did what good teams do. They RESPONDED with a smackdown on the Ravens.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 4) - The Texans proved a prior loss to Green Bay was an aberration with a monster home victory over another 5-1 team (Baltimore).

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 4) - They look like kings of the AFC. But can they hang in there with NFC teams?
