Aldrick Robinson was knocked unconscious for a minute during a freak collision with teammate Brandon Meriweather before Sundays 24-22 victory over the Buccaneers, Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday.
Robinson, the Redskins' No. 5 wide receiver, now must pass a series of neurological tests before being cleared to return to the practice field, Shanahan said.
Robinson and Meriweather were involved in a violent collision as they warmed up on the field at Raymond James Stadium. Robinson sustained a concussion, while Meriweather re-injured his left knee. Both players missed the game as a result.
Anytime youre knocked out for a length of time, you go through a procedure according to the NFL, Shanahan said. He feels very good, looks good. But he's going to have to take some tests over the next couple of days.
If Robinson passes those tests and practices at some its possible he'll play this weekend, Shanahan said.
