Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather has been fined $42,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Sunday in Green Bay, a source confirmed to CSN Washington.

In the first quarter of Washington's 38-20 loss at Lambeau Field, Meriweather, making his season debut, launched headfirst into Packers’ running back Eddie Lacy.

Lacy sustained a concussion in the collision and did not return to the game. Meriweather, meantime, suffered a concussion on a different play in the second quarter was lost for the rest of the afternoon.

Meriweather was fined $50,000 in 2010 for a pair of helmet-to-helmet hits on Ravens tight end Todd Heap.
