Considered by many to be the best analyst in all of football, Cris Collinsworth's opinions demand significant attention. And now the Sunday Night Football color commentator has weighed in on the Redskins coaching situation.

2014 will mark the final year on Washington head coach Mike Shanahan's contract. Conventional wisdom suggests the Redskins give Shanahan an extension now, lest he enter next year with the "lame duck" label. 

Shanahan has said he will not address the contract situation during the season. But with playoff hopes fading for Washington, Shanahan and Redskins owner Dan Snyder will need to discuss contracts before too long. Watch Collinsworth's comments below:
