On Sunday, the Redskins will face a Dallas Cowboys team that has been given a pretty severe bite by the dreaded injury bug.

The issues are primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Linebacker Sean Lee (neck) has been ruled out and cornerback Morris Claiborne (hamstring) is doubtful as is linebacker Ernie Sims (groin). It seems almost certain the Claiborne will miss the game while Sims plans to make the trip and test his groin at FedEx Field before a final determination of his status is made.

And while the Redskins certainly don’t wish injury on anyone, they certainly will be happy to see that Dwayne Harris will not be back returning kickoffs and punts. The Dallas returner, who returned a punt for a touchdown and a kickoff to set up another TD when the teams met earlier this season, is out with a hamstring.

At least the Cowboys will have one of their starting cornerbacks. Brandon Carr missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with an illness but he said, “I’m not going to miss a game with this.” He is listed as probable.
